ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTSI practice a fusion of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Japanese Meridian Therapy acupuncture techniques. The gauge of needle and depth of insertion is generally smaller and shallower to provide a gentle and pain free experience. I emphasize meridian and abdominal palpation diagnosis, as well as tongue and pulse readings, to help me listen to the body and asses the internal organs. The goal of every treatment is to use as few needles as possible to calm the nervous system and ensure the proper flow of Qi and energy in the body. Once shifted back into alignment and calm, the body will heal itself. I have been fortunate to participate in numerous low barrier clinics around Victoria and internationally with the flying needle project in South Africa. In addition to recieving my Diploma of Acupuncture, I completed a clinical intership in the teaching hospitals of Liaoning University of TCM in Shenyang, China and undertook 5 years of clinical mentorship in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Japanese Meridian Therapy. I am a registrant in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia and committed to on-going education in integrative health sciences. What I truly love about Chinese Medicine is the holistic perspective on health and healing. We acknowledge that our bodies are in constant relationship with our emotions, our spirit, our environment, social circumstances and personal relationships, and that illness can arise when any one of these factors is out of balance. My hope is to offer space for people to connect more deeply to themselves and that through our individual healing, we in turn can strengthen and offer hope and healing to our relationships, our families, our communities and our planet..
