Meet Jackie:Jackie Schalke graduated from the West Coast College in Victoria, B.C. in December of 2002, after three years of studying Swedish massage techniques and courses in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and neurology. After graduation, Registered Massage Therapists are required to take continuing education courses in order to keep up to date. Some of the courses Jackie has completed are:A Fitness theory and a Weight Training course through British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association.Certificate course in Cranial Sacral Therapy through Langara College in Vancouver, B.C.Jackie loves her career and finds it exciting to go to work each day to unravel the “mystery” each patient brings. She loves watching people discover how receiving massage can help them to live a more comfortable and healthier life-style.About Cranial Sacral Therapy:Cranial Sacral therapy is a light touch therapy performed with the patient fully dressed. This treatment can release restrictions within the body due to direct injury or chronic conditions as well as address the resulting compensations in other areas.Cranial Sacral therapy can help to restore a patient to a calmer, natural mental state. It can decrease pain and tension, and is a great alternative for those who have chronic pain from nerve or muscle conditions as it is performed with a very light touch and therefore less likely to exacerbate the pain of the condition. Jackie has been incorporating this therapy into her treatments or using it exclusively as a treatment, with success for the past 4 years..
