The Wellness Story
Welcome to Wellness.
Wellness started with Neurological Wellness Association (NWA), a registered NGO (S-57373), in 2010 in BC and Alberta.
We expanded nationally in 2018, and are excited to share our vision with the rest of Canada!
To help people by providing funding for health services that are not paid for by Canada's public health system.
To build a national membership platform that promotes socially conscious commerce resulting in the funds required to support people living with serious medical conditions, including:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Depression & Anxiety
- Huntington’s Disease
Our network is an extensive group of professionals who offer a diverse selection of health service at no or low cost to those in need, including:
- Massage Therapy
- Traditional Chinese Medicine
We have grown from humble beginnings. In 2017 we only had 300 members. Today we provide service to 5647 personal and professional members across Canada. Our coverage ranges from large metropolitan areas like Vancouver to small communities like Okotoks, and our value of total inclusion means we strive to provide equal service in each community.
As a small organization, we understand the worth of the individual and place significant value in community. We have members that are local to each region who ensure that the unique needs of each town are met. When folks make contributions, they can choose to support people locally, provincially, or nationally. We are all in this together.
We offer a number of useful tools to help members with our service:
Ask A Practitioner: Allows members to query our service providers.
Services Directory: Helps personal members search for services and professional members find support services.
Storytelling: We tell the stories of our personal and professional members.
Fundraising: We generate funding by selling memberships and health conscious food items, and accepting in-person donations.
We are here to give people a place to find resources in order to take responsibility for their own health. We know what it is like to be told that there are no options, and to feel alone and frozen out. We also know that are always options. There are always people on your side. Helping people be at their best is what drives most to practice medicine. We work with our professional members to find solutions to tough probelms, and we are here to help with yours.
Enjoy your stay, and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
